There are however, always issues when it comes to downloading new software. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve put together this useful guide on how to fix the most common macOS Monterey installation issues.<\/p>\n

Problem 1: MacOS Monterey can\u2019t be downloaded<\/h2>\n

Firstly, you need to check if your Mac is compatible. Apple released the following hardware requirements for installing macOS Monterey:<\/p>\n

\u2022 iMac \u2014 late 2015 and later
\n\u2022 iMac Pro \u2013 2017 and later
\n\u2022 MacBook Air \u2013 early 2015 and later
\n\u2022 MacBook Pro \u2013 early 2015 and later
\n\u2022 Mac Pro \u2013 late 2013 and later
\n\u2022 Mac mini \u2013 late 2014 and later
\n\u2022 MacBook \u2013 early 2016 and later<\/p>\n

If your Mac isn\u2019t on the list, we are sorry to say that you can\u2019t download macOS Monterey.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure your Mac has enough free space.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reported that the download and installation of macOS Monterey needs around 20GB of space. If you currently don\u2019t have enough, you can use Cleaner One Pro<\/a><\/strong> to clean your system and free up space.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Check your Wi-Fi connection.<\/p>\n

You can switch to another network or connect an Ethernet cable to avoid connectivity failure.<\/p>\n

Problem 2: MacOS Monterey won\u2019t install on your Mac<\/h2>\n

    Problem 3: Mac doesn\u2019t turn on after installing macOS Monterey<\/h2>\n

    \u2022 Check your Mac\u2019s hard drive with Disk Utility in macOS Recovery mode.<\/p>\n

    1. Reboot Mac and immediately hold Command + R to boot into macOS Recovery mode.<\/li>\n
    2. Release theses keys when you see the loading bar.<\/li>\n
    3. Select Disk Utility from the macOS Utilities menu.<\/li>\n
    4. Select the startup disk or the macOS volume in the left sidebar of Disk Utility.<\/li>\n
    5. Click First Aid at the top center and click Run to repair this disk.<\/li>\n
    6. When it\u2019s finished, click on Done and restart your Mac as usual.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Problem 4: MacOS Monterey stalls or freezes from time to time<\/h2>\n

      There are two main reasons why your Mac lags or freezes: the CPU is overloaded, or your Mac has run out of RAM memory.<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Use Activity Monitor to check your CPU and memory usage.<\/p>\n

      1. Go to Finder > Go > Utilities and open Activity Monitor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \u2022 Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).<\/p>\n

              The System Management Controller (SMC) is the component that controls the keyboard, fan, battery, and other important internal hardware. If you\u2019ve noticed that your Mac\u2019s fan is often running at full speed, you should consider resetting the SMC.<\/p>\n

              First, you need to check whether your Mac has a T2 chip or not. To do this, please click here<\/a>.
