In a blog post on August 31, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 11 will be available from October 5<\/strong>. The latest version of Microsoft\u2019s operating system features a redesigned UI with a new Start menu, tidy improvements to the Settings and Quick Settings menus, a new practical Snap Groups feature, super interesting Widgets, and lots more!<\/p>\n

Taskbar settings<\/h2>\n

To customize the taskbar, right-click any empty space on the taskbar and select \u201cTaskbar settings\u201d.<\/p>\n

The \u201cTaskbar settings\u201d menu looks like this:<\/p>\n

\u2022 You can show or hide buttons in the taskbar<\/strong> by turning them on or off in the \u201cTaskbar items\u201d (marked by the green box below).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Microsoft has really improved the user experience on touchscreen devices. You can set the pen menu to always be shown<\/strong> when you\u2019re using a stylus and it\u2019s now really easy to bring up the touch keyboard<\/strong> by adding its icon to the bottom right corner (marked by the red box below).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Not used to the new centered taskbar? No sweat! You can relocate it to the left side<\/strong> by going to Taskbar settings > Taskbar behaviors > Taskbar alignment and selecting \u201cLeft\u201d.
\n\u2022 You can check the box next to \u201cAutomatically hide the taskbar<\/strong>\u201d so the taskbar disappears when apps are opened \u2013 handy for helping you focus on your work!<\/p>\n

Quick Settings<\/h2>\n

In Windows 11, Microsoft separated Windows 10\u2019s Action Center into Quick Settings and the Notification Center. The new Quick Settings menu is more functional and has a clearer layout.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Click the pencil icon in the bottom-right corner (see the screenshot above) to edit your quick settings<\/strong>. You can choose which settings appear in the Quick Settings menu \u2013 super handy!<\/p>\n

\"Add<\/picture><\/p>\n

You can unpin an item<\/strong> from the Quick Settings menu by clicking the pushpin icon next to each setting.<\/p>\n

Other settings can be added<\/strong> by using the \u201c+ Add\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Start menu<\/h2>\n

The Start menu shows pinned apps and recommended files.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Apps are easier to organize with the new Start menu. When you right-click on an app\u2019s icon, a context menu will appear. You can then unpin the app from the Start menu<\/strong>, uninstall it<\/strong>, pin it to the taskbar<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

\u2022 You can add folder shortcuts next to the Start menu\u2019s power button<\/strong> for easy access. Go to Settings > Personalization > Start > Folders.<\/p>\n

Colorful touch keyboard<\/h2>\n

Windows 11 allows users to change the theme of the touch keyboard<\/strong>, and there are some really cool ones!<\/p>\n

When you open the touch keyboard, click on the Settings icon > Theme and resize.<\/p>\n

Then you can choose from the excellent selection of themes.<\/p>\n
